Affiliated Steel & Tube, A California Stainless Steel and Metals Distributor has an immediate opening for a self-motivated sales person in their Ontario, California office. This hands-on position offers multiple paths for advancement into upper management for the candidate with the skills and desire to grow with an established and successful company.

General Responsibilities Include:

• Responding to customer inquiries via phone, fax, or email by determining material availability, conformance to customer requirements, quoting prices, and providing reasonable delivery commitment designed to obtain the customer's order or expanded order.
• Enter purchase orders into our computer system.
• Coordinate with customers, operations, traffic, outside sales, purchasing and sales management to expedite or troubleshoot customer orders.
• Understand and provide feedback to customers regarding operational capabilities and enhancements.
• Initiate telephone calls to customers and potential customers to solicit purchases of stock or to follow-up previously quoted business opportunities.
• Cultivate a strong product and market knowledge, as well as knowledge of the customer's business and end use of material.
• Perform other related work as assigned including occasional travel with outside sales to visit a customer or vendor.

Requirements:

• A college degree is preferred, but not require.
• Steel industry experience is a plus.
• Excellent verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to develop and sustain business relationships required.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
• Bilingual in Spanish a plus, but not required.
