Galvanized Tubing - A Cost Effective Solution over Stainless Tubing for Restaurant Equipment

Bullet Foot for Stainless Steel & Galvanized Tubing
Restaurant equipment manufacturers have long been aware of the cost saving benefits of using galvanized tubing over stainless steel tubing in the manufacturing of their restaurant equipment products. With the current economic situations, restaurant manufacturers see the use of galvanized tubing as more attractive as the savings on galvanized tube can be upwards of 30% over stainless tubing.

Specifically, the galvanized tubing used is the 1 5/8” (1.625) x .065 O.D. size tubing. This particular size is used for the legs in products such as refrigeration units; stainless shelving, sinks, and tables used in restaurant and food preparation areas. While manufacturers have been known to use the 1.660 x .059 galvanized tubing, used for fence polls, problems arise when they try to insert the leg bullets into the tubing as the fence polls’ outside diameter is slightly larger and expands once the bullet is inserted, causing the bullet to fall out of the tubing.

For the best results in a secure leg and an affordable solution, it’s always best to use the 1 5/8”x.065 galvanized tubing.
